Showbizzsite.be, the nr.1 entertainment news site in Belgium hired Gemango to build their new platform. Drupal was chosen for the base architecture to create the multiple custom plugins to manage the data. Showbizzsite.be holds thousands of records related to Music tracklists, bio's of more than 50.000 celebrities, 10s of thousands of pictures and the latest local showbizznews combined with contest and fan knowledge quizes.. The showbizzsite platform lets each user interact on the site, challenge other users in Fanquizes, create their profile together with fan pictures. A close integration with Mailchimp gives the admins a direct userlist subscription based on the users favorite artists to finetune the DM mailings. Due to it's popularity a special server architecture combined with a reverse proxy server and custom object caching was chosen for load balancing purposes.
